I am pleased to share that SynergyWorks Consulting has delivered exceptional outcomes for its not-for-profit, charity, and community organisation clients since 2022. Happy Meditator
Mental Health Research

Led and designed for client research with a focus on establishing Australia's first culturally responsive peer support workforce led by CALD people, based on the pressing need for mental health support in CALD communities. We worked to identify the need for a culturally responsive approach to mental health care in CALD communities and have proposed a solution to address this issue. The proposal is underpinned by research and aims to improve mental health outcomes for CALD communities in Greater Western Sydney. The pressing need for mental health support in CALD communities has garnered the support of government officials and members of the NSW Parliament. With their support, we are hopeful that this research can lead to a funding announcement to address this important issue.

Government Engagement

A recent project success for a client was helping them prepare a pre-budget 2023/24 submission to the Commonwealth Government of Australia, laying out the organisation's priorities for advocacy purposes. The result of this effort was outstanding, with a 400% increase in political engagement, and public recognition of our client's thought leadership. This success has significantly enhanced our client's capacity to advocate and influence the government as a whole, demonstrating the effectiveness of our communication and media strategy. We are proud to have contributed to this achievement and look forward to building upon this momentum in future projects.

Job Interview
Financial stability

Faced with a daunting financial challenge, our client sought our services to address their finances and position them for growth. This client had a projected deficit representing nearly 25% of their total equity for the 2023/24 financial year. Additionally, the expiration of numerous grants meant securing an additional 20-30% of their annual budget to cover the shortfall for the following year.

To address these challenges, we provided strategic advice and support, implementing immediate and proactive steps. We advised on ways to reduce operating costs without compromising existing services and identified new income opportunities, resulting in a dramatic financial turnaround.

By middle of the FY, the forecast deficit was reduced by 87.5%, and by the end of the financial year, the client had transformed their finances from a significant deficit to a surplus by almost 400%.

Empowering the client's team was crucial. We enhanced staff understanding of financial management and laid plans for further improvements, focusing on team leader training related to financial acquittals. This collaborative approach ensured every team member played a vital role in financial success.

Funding success

I'm thrilled to inform you that our application for the Information, Linkages, and Capacity Building (ILC) grants, managed by the NDIS, has been successful! We prepared this application on behalf of our client in November 2023.

The grant, totaling $1.6 million over three years, focuses on supporting CALD young people with disabilities, enhancing their access to essential information and services within the community.

We co-designed with our client a program titled "Path to Freedom (PTF)," targeting young individuals aged 13 to 21 with psychosocial disabilities and their carers in the CALD community. This initiative aims to empower participants, foster resilience, and promote rights awareness.
